What better way to start off 2021 then with completing some boat projects. Today was the long overdue mounting of Narnia’s life raft. As with all boat projects, the 1 hour job estimate actually took all day to complete.
A large portion of the time add was due to Dan launching some vital parts of the mounting hardware into the bay while hanging over the stern of the boat. We asked a friendly diver who happened to be nearby cleaning hulls if he would do a search/recover, but he said the water is too murky to realistically find the small parts that were lost.
After a quick trip to West Marine in Alameda, and an obligatory coffee stop, things got back on track. The rafts Pelican Case is mounted to a piece of StarBoard, that is mounted to the aft/port rail of Narnia. Some judicious use of the drill and rubber mallet was required to get all to fit. All holes in the case were sealed.
So now the life raft is mounted and if all goes well, we won’t need to bother with it for at least another 3 year.
Happy 2021 from Scotty, Sue, and Dan.
