Christmas Eve Bike Ride in Vienna

What to do in Vienna, Austria, on Christmas Eve? While all of the locals are celebrating Christmas today (as is tradition in Europe), we went went for a nice 18 mile bike ride along the Danube River, the Old Danube Canal and the New Danube Canal. We rode from the ship, following various excellent bike paths, to the town of Klosterneuburg were we stopped for a quick break, a cup of coffee to warm up and a stroll around the Klosterneuburg Monastery. Along the way we crossed the river and both canals, rode through parks, neighborhoods, city centers, and old highways converted to bike only traffic. A very bike friendly area. The ride ended back at the ship. A memorable Christmas Eve.

We head to Budapest late this afternoon for 2 more nights on the boat followed by 2 more days at a hotel before flying home on Tuesday. We plan on visiting 2 more Christmas Markets in Budapestā€¦
