This morning we left the ship for a guided stroll around the medieval center of Regensburg Germany. The city is situated on the Danube and it’s historic center was in easy walking distance from our dock. The city was beautiful but deserted at this time of morning. We meandered through the streets ending up at the gorgeous Gothic St Peters Cathedral.
Later in the afternoon we had the opportunity to visit 2 different breweries and learn about the intricacies of the different brewing methods and ingredients that go into making the unique beers of the area. A special treat of the day was the “Beer. Mustard and Pretzel” pairings presented at the local beer hall. This was akin to the wine and cheese pairings we are use to in Napa. Sue purchased some local mustard.
It was dark by the time we walked back to the ship and we were able to see the old city at night. All in all a good day.
