Tuesday night happenings: Knee deep in Alaska travel planning and Iditarod C-19 testing requirements to be volunteer dog handlers for ceremonial start and real race restart the next day. We will proactively PCR test this Thursday evening before flying out early Sunday morning then we have to to do another PCR test in Anchorage 72 hours before we actually work as dog handlers at the ceremonial start on Saturday, March 5th in Anchorage , followed by real race start in Willow, Alaska on Sunday March 6th. We also have to do an antigen test on site at the Iditarod headquarters in order to check-in as volunteers. One fun challenge for our Anchorage PCR testing requirement, we don’t have a car (most free sites are drive through (aka Walgreens ). More to follow as I will be making calls this week (worst case , I found 2 urgent care clinics that we can test us for a cost with sufficient turnaround results). Fun times planning !!
