After 28 days at sea and sailing over 4000 miles across the Pacific Ocean from Panama City, Panama, we have finally reached Nuku Hiva, Marquesas Islands, French Polynesia. What an amazing adventure! Dreamer stayed off-shore overnight so that we could enter the anchorage at first light. What a site! After living for over 6 weeks in a 40′ sailboat and not seeing another soul for almost 4 weeks (the Pacific Ocean is a BIG and empty space when you get out of site of land) we are now surrounded by land, boats, and people from all over the planet. It’s a shock to the senses.
We went ashore in search of Pizza and Beer and were not disappointed. We will spend a few days exploring the island and then Dan will fly to Papeete, Tahiti (Society Islands) where Sue is waiting to meet him.
