We arrived at Hawke’s Bays, in the wonderful city of Napier, New Zealand in the early this morning on day 20 of our 116 day world cruise. Once again, we docked an industrial dock so had to take a mandatory shuttle bus into town (about a 10 min drive). Unfortunately, this was a very quick stop(back aboard 1pm) so we only had a couple of hours to explore.
The Hawke’s Bay area has some amazing trails, so we rented a couple of e-bikes and set out to explore a small subset of what the area has to offer. Today we traveled a 13 miles section of the trail system covering portions of the Coastal, Estuary and City trail systems. We both agreed this was one of the best maintained trail systems we have ridden. Clean, well-marked, and with packed/paved surfaces and boardwalks. We needed way more time to truly explore this amazing area. We were back aboard ship by 1PM and sailed away shortly thereafter.
