Our pilot tug met us at 6:30AM to guide us to our Victoria Quay berth located just beyond the maritime museum in Fremantle Harbor. It was another warm, clear Australian summer day, perfect for an e-bike ride around the city.
The ships shuttle bus deposited us in the center of town, and we made the short walk to the bike shop to join our group and set off on our 3-hour tour. The route took us from the harbor to the maritime museum, roundhouse prison, O’conner beach dunes, war memorial, the boat harbor, thru local historic neighborhoods, Fremantle prison, the rainbow container arc and the left bank where we stopped at a local pub for lunch of fish and chips before heading back to the bike shop.
We reboarded the shuttle for a ride to the ship’s berth. Sue went back to the ship and Dan went out to get a closer look at the maritime museum and surrounding areas. Sailaway was 7:30PM just as the sun was setting.
