Friday, May 28, 2021 Reykjavik: Relaxing down day for us, stormy weather including high winds and rain.
First priority today was our 9 am appointment to complete a PCR test before entering back into the USA (negative test results required within 3 days of departure). The site was well organized for high volume testing, the parking lot was full of tourists, we were in & out within 5 minutes (received our test results via email in under 5 hours that included a letter that we have to show at check-in at the airport).
Second priority was to get the windshield chip repaired, after driving to a few businesses, finally found one that will repair a rental car (cost us $80 and looks good as new).
The rest of the day consisted of walking around the local Costco (layout just like at home with mostly the same products) We also walked around downtown, found a wonderful restaurant for lunch which was our main meal for the day. Dan had the “plate of the day” pork schnitzel and I had dumplings (made out of chickpea, onion & mushrooms) & cabbage. Both dishes were delicious.
