In search of the Christmas Spirit

After a brief respite at the hotel we went back out in search of Christmas Spirit. We strolled back across the river and found the old town square bustling with light and life. Locals and tourists, young and old, couples and families were out happily enjoying the brisk night air, the food stands of hot meat and mulled wine, and the restaurants outdoor dining. The vibe was merry although noticeably subdued for the season. We found a nice heated patio near the Astronomical Clock (Restaurace U Minuty) and dined on that most universal of Holiday Foods, pizza. We opted for a pancetta pizza and salad.

We strolled back across the Charles Bridge, stopping for cup of warm Gluhwein from a stand just below the entrance, and were soon back at our hotel. Prague had once again proved to be a magical place for the Holidays.
