From Doha to Bangkok. Let the fun begin.

It’s been a long travel day and there is still a long way to go. We landed in Doha, Qatar after a 14.5 hour flight from SFO. We spent 3 hours navigating the massive Hamid International Airport along with a quick visit to the business lounge for snacks and refreshment before boarding the plane for our late-night, 5 hour 48-minute flight to Bangkok.

As with the 1st Qatar Airways flight, customer service, food and accommodations were superb. We landed in Bangkok early Tuesday morning April 11th, collected our luggage (surprisingly the 1st ones off the belt), proceeded quickly through customs and immigration, then made our way to our designated pick-up point for the ride to our hotel.

We used “Welcome Pickups” for this trip (yes, they have an App). We have used them previously in Europe and find the service quick, efficient and affordable. You are assigned a driver in advance, and they stay in touch (text/whats ap), will track your flight and meet you at the arrival area on time. Very happy with their service so far.

45 minutes later we were checked into our hotel. We have visits to the floating and railway markets planned for tomorrow, so for now we will nap and adjust to the 14-hour time change. Let the fun begin.
