Today’s port, Puerto Vallarta Mexico, marks the next to last stop before we conclude this “Around the World” journey. Today’s weather is hot, the air is filled with smoke and it a bit hard to breath outside. If you were to glance at the “What’s in Port” guide for this port, you would read that “Puerto Vallarta is quite simply one of the most beautiful, cultured, luxurious vacation spots in all of Mexico, and indeed the world.”. Buto a majority of the crew aboard the ship (and several passengers), the major excitement for calling here is that Sam’s Club and Wal-Mart are right across the street from the ship.
We have been to this area several times over the course of our lives and truth be told, have no desire at this point in the trip to venture out again. In fact, other than trips across the street to the mega stores or the Duty Free, many passengers opt to stay aboard. We did venture out as far as the Duty Free store to have a look around and were shocked by prices higher than what is available on board the ship. Having touched the ground in Mexico, we returned to the ship. Today was a very short layover and the ship casts off at 3:30PM. We will spend the next 2 days at sea packing up our suitcases. Next stop, the cruise port in San Pedro, California where we started this adventure way back on January 20, 2025.
