After leaving the Blue Lagoon, we traveled along the road to explore some of the local landmarks on the way to Reykjavik. Our 1st stop was at Reykjanesviti Lighthouse (Dan love’s lighthouses!) for a quick photo op as it was closed to visitors. We then moved down the gravel road to the beach to visit the famous Auk monument dedicated to the now extinct Great Auk.
We then proceeded to down the road to find the Bridge between two Continents. This bridge connects the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates in Sandvic. Very interesting area and a stunning landscape.
It was then time to move to the Alda Hotel, our home base for the next 2 nights in Reykjavik.
