We woke up early this morning and caught the hotel shuttle to the airport, checked in, dropped off our luggage and preceded through security via CLEAR (a great service). As we had a couple of hours before our flight, we proceeded to lounge hop between lounges, in search of a light breakfast, while we waited for our flight. We concluded that the American Express Platinum Lounge has a better breakfast then the American Airlines Admirals Lounge (At least at SFO).
Today we were flying from San Francisco Airport to Lima, Peru with a brief stopover in Miami, FL. We passed the 13 1/2 in the air by napping, eating, watching movies, checking emails and pacing up and down the aisles. All the normal things you do when trapped in a metal tube at 40,000 ft. It was a pleasant flight, but we were more than ready to deplane the instant we landed in Peru.
We arrived in Lima just before midnight on October 30th, collected our luggage, zipped through customs and was met by our driver (arranged by the tour company) that delivered us to our hotel in the Miraflores district of Lima about an hour away with late night traffic.
A long, but surprisingly uneventful start to our bucket list trip.
